We are working towards becoming a Business Improvement District (BID) in the coming years.

Business Partnerships and BIDs give a voice to business communities – championing local priorities and ensuring the right people are at the decision table. Businesses understand that together they can be stronger; lobbying on big, strategic issues that impact on their commercial performance and ability to grow.

BIDs are established via a ballot of eligible businesses and if successful a small levy is charged and the money raised is then invested into local projects and programmes developed through collaboration with the business community. There are now more than 60 BIDs across London, and already two in the City: the Cheapside Business Alliance and the Aldgate Connect BID.

Strategic THEMES

Over the next year we will be focusing on 3 strategic themes, delivering a series of pilot projects that will demonstrate the Partnership’s value:

  • To invest in more public spaces and greening, creating an area that boasts an attractive and sustainable destination
  • Take a leadership approach to sustainability best practices
  • Creating a brand and identity for the area bringing the identity and uniqueness of the FSQ area to the forefront
  • An events programme that showcases the area and its business community
  • Working in partnership with the corporate community and deliver best practice across the footprint through a number of interventions
  • A democratic and collective voice for the local business community

These core themes are driven by our Board and our Steering Groups, who are representative of our business community.
