LADY LUCY FRENCH TALKS SHAKESPEARE AND FSQ WITH ROBERT ELMS

ON BBC RADIO LONDON

11 AUGUST 2023

Last Friday, Fleet Street Quarter CEO, Lady Lucy French joined Robert Elms on BBC Radio London to talk about the ways in which the Fleet Street Quarter is celebrating the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s First Folio.

Talking in depth about the areas historic ties to the playwright and how the amazing Troubadour Stageworks team will continue to celebrate him by delivering a series of free, Lucy detailed the weekly lunchtime performances within the Quarter over the next few months, with performances At the Apex Temple Court Hotel, as well as Stationers Hall where the first folio was registered in 1623!

Lucy and Robert also discussed Fleet Street Quarter as a whole and the many ways it’s reinventing itself for the 21st century, from the large scale development pipeline taking shape across the BID footprint to innovations focusing on sustainability and the conundrum of empty retail units, Lucy talked about our recent Urban Farm pop-up and how we are developing the concept around the Quarter, stating that the BID’s aim is to actively transform the way people view, use and experience this incredible area of London.
