On your bike! Join us this March for a cycling festival across the Fleet Street Quarter.
In the morning, 8am – 9am, we’ll be on the corner of Stonecutter Street and Farringdon road for a security marking session from the City of London Police and an opportunity to speak to officers directly about concerns around cycle safety in the area.
You can also get practical tips will help keep your bike safe and out of the hands of thieves – and also advise on how to get it back if it is stolen. Bike security marking is a highly effective, visible deterrent to bike thieves. They know that if they are caught with a registered bike, the owner can be traced and they will be arrested.
Dr Bike will be on hand to offer free bike repairs, safety checks and servicing, as well as advice on upkeep from their expert. In the morning, there will also be an opportunity to ‘trade places’ and sit in an HGV to experience the view of lorry drivers from their cab, something equally useful for cyclists and pedestrians alike.
In the afternoon, 12pm – 2pm, in partnership with LandSec, we’ll be in New Street Square for our cycling extravaganza. You’ll have the opportunity to make your own free pedal powered smoothie with healthy fruit and veg, with our stationary smoothie bikes.
Dr Bike will also be back in case you missed the chance for any free repairs or bike servicing in the morning, and the team from Love to Ride will be on site, getting to know the FSQ community and letting them know about Ride Anywhere Week, their fun, free biking challenge on their game-changing app!
Spring is right around the corner, which means it’s time to say hello to brighter and sunnier rides. What better way to welcome the season than by joining Ride Anywhere Week with Love to Ride? Why not get some of your colleagues involved too. Whether you’re a regular cyclist or it’s been a while since your last ride, this challenge is all about enjoying the benefits of cycling, while having the chance to win some amazing prizes.
We’ve partnered with Love to Ride to get our workplaces unleashing their competitive side with fun and friendly workplace competition. Co-workers can join their workplace profile on Love to Ride and compete to earn the most points and top the Fleet Street Quarter leaderboard in their size category. Join the fun here!
There will also be an opportunity for local businesses to discover the power of greener deliveries with cargo bikes. The teams from Pedal Me and the Zero Emissions Network will be on hand to discuss the benefits of cargo bike deliveries as well as how businesses can make the switch. You’ll also have a chance to check out the bikes they use and how they work.
