HOW TO VOTE

  • HOW DO I VOTE?

All eligible businesses within the Fleet Street Quarter BID area are entitled to vote on the BID proposal for the 2027–2032 term. The ballot will be conducted by post by the City of London Corporation.

    2. Complete the ballot paper
    3. Return it before the closing date using the provided envelope
  • WHO CAN VOTE?

All businesses liable for the BID levy are eligible to vote. Each hereditament is entitled to one vote. Where a business occupies more than one hereditament, each will receive a separate vote. All businesses who occupy a property of a Rateable Value (RV) of £180,000 and above, are eligible to vote.

  • WHAT AM I VOTING ON?

Businesses are voting on whether to approve the Fleet Street Quarter BID for a further five-year term from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2032, including the proposed levy and business plan.

  • HOW IS THE VOTE DECIDED?

For the BID to be approved, two conditions must be met:

Understanding bids

Learn how Business Improvement Districts operate, how they are funded, and how decisions are made.

A Business Improvement District (BID) is a defined area where local businesses work together to invest in projects and services that enhance the district. Funded through a small levy on eligible businesses, a BID provides additional improvements beyond statutory services and gives the business community a collective voice to shape the area’s future.

BIDs run in five year terms and must be renewed through a formal ballot. For a BID ballot to be successful, it must be won on two counts:

A majority of the number of businesses voting
A majority of the total Rateable Value (RV) of those voting

A successful vote gives the BID a new mandate to deliver improvements, champion the district, and support the business community. Fleet Street Quarter was established in 2022, following a successful ballot.
